I love entertaining from choosing the menu, pairing it with the perfect wine or cocktail, designing a beautiful table and creating the perfect atmosphere for guests to eat, drink and mingle. Your wedding is basically the greatest dinner party you will ever throw and planning your wedding is the perfect outlet for my creative passion.
My Employment History as the Manager of a busy wedding venue in the Bow Valley provided me with not only planning experience but also hosting experience. It allowed me to see the event from the perspective of the venue and staff. This insight into the workings of a hotel/wedding venue from housekeeping, front desk and group sales, to food & beverage service/management offers me a unique understanding of the overall event and the layers that are involved in creating it. When I am planning an event I am able to take all of this into consideration with complete understanding.
Rebecca also has a successful history in hotel management. Now she splits her time between raising her two lovely children and being the friendly face of Something New. She is the person who is there on your wedding day to give you the support you need. She has an attention to detail that is important on the big day to ensure every aspect is perfect! Rebecca also brings fun and humour to the Something New team which is enjoyable for staff and wedding guests alike. She will quite often be your first point of contact at Something New Wedding and Event Design, as she is also strongly involved in the administrative side of the business.
Ronnie and Kirsten work mostly behind the scenes, discreetly making things happen. They are often the people responsible for setting the stage for your wedding vision with the setup of your ceremony and reception decor. As the party winds down they will return to tidy and pack up so you and your guests can enjoy yourselves without having to clean up at the end of the night. Ronnie and Kirsen love to be helpful, always going out of their way to do anything they can for guests in need.
